Elegant Boutique Retreat
Kea Retreat sits on is on a serene and abundant natural reserve on the island of Kea. Thus, every aspect of the luxury retreat is inspired by a love for Greek culture – celebrating nature, food, and life. The hotel’s seven luxury suites are restored kathikies (traditional Greek stone farmhouses). These date back hundreds of years. As a result, they merge into the hill’s rocky topography with unobstructed, endless Aegean Sea views.
The true essence of Kea Retreat can be heard in the evocative strains of traditional Greek rebetiko music. In addition, it is felt in the serenity of mind and spirit immersed in nature.
What makes the Kea Retreat experience unique is the fine-tuned balance between physical and spiritual fulfillment. Hence, a reflection of the family’s own philosophy of life. Ideally described as “Zorba-meets-Buddha,” the retreat’s aim is to nurture body and mind through yoga, meditation, and healing practices. In addition, through good food, good company and good fun. As a result, it’s the realization of a peak human experience.
Lygaria Farm & Restaurant
As the property re-opens for its second full season this year, the Kea Retreat team announces the grand opening of Lygaria Farm & Restaurant. This on-site small scale fine dining experience offers a multi-course tasting menu. The menu changed daily based on the available produce and freshly caught seafood. Lygaria will be open for bookings outside of Kea Retreat guests starting June 2024.
Lygaria is an intimate fine dining experience open inspired by the Cycladic sun, Aegean breeze & beautiful traditions of Greek island culture. Led by Chef Uriel Eshet, Kea Retreat’s cuisine embodies the destination’s slow living and nature conscious principles. As a result, the new restaurant draws from his experience in numerous Michelin-star restaurants in Europe and the USA.
Therefore, Uriel combines innovative techniques with a farm-to-table philosophy. Plus, they offer guests dishes exclusively based on seasonal and local ingredients. Much of it grows on the property’s olive groves, fruit orchards, vegetable and herb gardens, and vineyards.
Kea Retreat is tucked away on a serene and abundant natural reserve on the island of Kea, an island just a 50-minute ferry ride away but historically one of the most untouched. The property was created to offer a sanctuary for travelers seeking to find relaxation, rejuvenation, and a reconnection with the essence of being.
